the first time I saw a photo like this I thought "how amazing is that"
of course at the time I had no child that could fit on a stack of towels in
any creative manner. Until now. When I took her in for her photos a few
weeks ago I mentioned to Nichole that I should have prepared better and we
could have captured the photo. Nichole's response..."why don't we do it when you
bring the kids back for their outdoor photo shoot?" and so we did.

1 month

I am writing this on the 25th which amounts to one month you have been in our home.

(the photos were taken on the 21st, officially 1 month for you)

What a journey it has been so far.

One month.

not really a long time and yet in your time it is.

So much has happened already in your life.

You are steadily gaining weight, keep that up baby!

You are quite alert, following my face with those serious eyes of yours.

You don't like to burp. One night as I tried to coax a burp out of you, Yahaira who was sleeping on my floor responded to my repeated request from you to "give me the burp" by saying "she doesn't want to burp mommy let her sleep"

Yes, you have been keeping our household on it's toes, and awake during rather odd hours of the night...sigh. I am so tired.

and yet as you snuggle against my chest, and I listen to your breaths, sleep really doesn't seem so important. I know all to well that you are only little for a very short time.

I'm going to enjoy ever moment.

then we had to compare Rosie to Reyna and the baby
(sigh, really it seems like only yesterday Rosie was my baby, how does this happen?)

now that she is awake a wee bit more throughout the day we have been treated to some beautiful
and expressive looks from this little one. Yahaira exclaimed the other day "She has eyes"

when she sleeps

so do we. Finally we realized that the scales of sleep were certainly unbalanced. Especially when the little wonder enjoys being awake from 10pm-2am. She naturally makes up her lost sleep during the day. Something neither of us is able to do,you know that little thing called work, and of course the other multiple children that share our world. So finally we are tweaking it, learning to take little naps right along with her. For as much as i love all that is newborn wonder I just have to say I do miss sleeping for more than 3 hours at a time.
